❤ One cup of white short-grain rice.
❤ Four glasses of water.
❤ Two glasses of thick coconut milk.
❤ Add salt to taste.
Instructions:-
- To get rid of extra starch, rinse the rice in cold water until the water runs clean.
- Boil four cups of water in a large pot.
- Lower the heat and add the rinsed rice to the boiling water. Simmer, covered, until the rice is tender and the water is absorbed, about 15 to 20 minutes. To keep from sticking, stir from time to time.
- Pour two cups of thick coconut milk into the pot with the cooked rice.
- Cook, stirring constantly, over low heat for a further 10 to 15 minutes, making sure the mixture doesn't stick to the pot's bottom.
- Taste and adjust the consistency with additional coconut milk if needed. Add salt.
- Take the milk rice off of the heat as soon as it's thick and creamy.
- Using a spatula or the back of a spoon, transfer the milk rice to a serving plate and smooth it out.
- Let the milk rice cool for a few minutes, then use a spoon or slice to remove the rice.
- Warm milk rice should be served with your preferred side dishes, such as sweet mango chutney or spicy sambal.
